Insufficient coolant causes high water temperature

It is easy to judge when the coolant is low – we only need to look at the auxiliary tank and the remaining amount of coolant. If the coolant level is lower than the “MIN” line, the coolant is too low.

Excessive heat sink causes excessive water temperature

If the engine room is not clean and dust is accumulated for a long time, especially the catkins in summer, it will lead to poor heat dissipation of the water tank, resulting in excessive water temperature. Under normal circumstances, because the water temperature caused by too much dust in the tank is too high, we only need to clean up the dust on the radiator to solve the problem.

It should be noted that do not flush the water tank or engine compartment directly with a faucet or high pressure water gun, otherwise it may cause the engine circuit to malfunction; moreover, the accumulated dust will condense in water, and it will stick even more tightly. To clean the dust in the engine compartment or the water tank, air guns should be used to blow away accumulated dust.

Check if the fan is working normally

The fan does not turn normally and needs to go to the service station to see if the fan function is not turned on. Check if the thermostat works well

The function of the thermostat is to automatically adjust the amount of water entering the radiator according to the temperature of the cooling water and change the circulation range of the water to adjust the cooling capacity of the cooling system to ensure that the engine works within a suitable temperature range.

If we find that the water temperature is too high during the normal driving of the vehicle, we can open the engine cover and touch the tank inlet and outlet pipes by hand to see if there is a temperature difference; if there is a temperature difference, then the thermostat is faulty, It does not work properly and causes the water temperature to be too high.

How to prevent the water temperature from being too high?

1, check or replace the coolant regularly

Various anti-rust agents and anti-foaming agents are added to the coolant to effectively reduce the rust of the cooling system and the generation of coolant bubbles. After a long period of use, these additives will be consumed, so we need to replace the new coolant regularly.

2, can not use water instead of coolant

In the daily-use car process, we must not use water for long-term instead of dedicated coolant. Water can only be used as an emergency in special circumstances. Although using water instead of coolant will not produce any adverse effects on the vehicle within a short period of time, the problem will come over time.

First, the boiling point of water is lower than that of a dedicated coolant, and it is easier to evaporate. Therefore, when using water as a coolant, it is necessary to add it frequently. Secondly, the untreated water contains more minerals. After long-term use, it will generate scale in the water pipes. When the scale is accumulated to a certain extent, it will reduce the water circulation efficiency in the water pipes, affecting the cooling effect of the cooling system. .
